Kathmandu: The government has decided to summon a meeting of the House of Representatives on July 18.

A meeting of Council of Ministers held on Thursday decided to recommend before President Bidya Bhandari to summon the meeting of a lower house at 4 pm on Sunday, said Minister for Law and government Spokesperson Gyanendra Bahadur Karki.

The Supreme Court on July 12 had reinstated the House of Representatives and had issued a mandamus order to summon a meeting of the lower House within seven days.

As per the constitutional provision, President summons and prorogues the Parliament’s session on the recommendation of the Cabinet.
