UML decides to vote against trust motion to be tabled by PM Deuba

Kathmandu: The CPN-UML has decided not to give a vote of confidence to the government.

A meeting of the UML Standing Committee held on Friday decided not to give a vote of confidence to Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, said Spokesperson Pradeep Gyawali.

Gyawali said that the decision has been made to direct its lawmakers to vote against the trust motion to be tabled by the Prime Minister.

Spokesperson Gyawali, referring to the party’s senior leader Madhav Nepal, said, “The Supreme Court has paved the way for anyone to give a vote of confidence.” “We are the opposition and will play the role of opposition.”

Deuba needs to win a vote of confidence motion in the lower house within 30 days to remain in office as per the constitutional provision.
