Nepal Covid-19: 1,875 fresh cases and 21 deaths reported in last 24 hours; 165 succumb to the pandemic in a week

Kathmandu: The country has recorded an additional 1,875 new Covid-19 cases, taking the caseload to a total of 665,886 (in PCR tests).

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, samples of 6,858 people were tested through the PCR method while 3,208 samples were tested adopting the antigen method.

A total of 21 people died from the virus in the last 24 hours. So far, the death toll from the infection has hit 9,527, according to the Ministry.

Meanwhile, 2,164 recovered in the past 24 hours and the country has 25,952 active cases. The recovery rate stands at 94.7 percent. There are 5,540 active cases in Kathmandu, 908 in Bhaktapur, and 951 in Lalitpur.

Nepal recorded 165 fatalities in the last seven days.

A total of 20 people died of the pandemic on July 11, 18 on July 12, 12 on July 13, 18 on July 14, 33 on July 15, 43 on July 16, and 21 on July 17.
