Kathmandu: The government has assigned the responsibility of Acting Chief of Army Staff to Prabhuram Sharma. A Cabinet meeting held on Tuesday decided to that end as Chief of Army Staff Purna Chandra Thapa is retiring on September 10, said a Cabinet minister.
The minister said that Sharma would assume the responsibility of Acting Chief of Army Staff from the day Thapa takes leave. NA Chief Thapa will be taking a leave from August 9 as per the practice of taking a one-month leave prior to retirement.
