Mega Bank provides Rs 700,000 insurance amount

Kathmandu: Mega Bank Nepal Limited has provided Rs 700,000 as an insurance amount to the family members of a customer who died in an accident.

The bank in a statement said that it handed over the amount to the family members of Himalaya Gurung who had maintained ‘Mega Corporate Benefit Savings Account’ with the bank.

Manager of Mega Bank Itahari Branch Shikander Thapa handed over the insurance amount to late Himalaya’s wife Mamita Gurung. Gurung, a permanent resident of Sankhuwasabha, died in an accident at Balaju in Kathmandu last year.

The bank has covered accident insurance of Rs 700,000 to each account holder in the ‘Mega Corporate Benefit Savings Account’ which can be opened with a minimum balance of Rs 1,000, according to the bank.
