Nepal to receive 52.2 million vaccines within mid-February: State Minister Shrestha

Kathmandu: Minister of State for Health Umesh Shrestha has made public his 23-point action plan focusing on pandemic control and vaccination.

The ‘Policy Commitment and Action Plan on Public Health and Pandemic Control’ made public by Minister of State Shrestha has mentioned that Nepal will receive 52.2 million vaccines within mid-February next year.

Speaking at a program organized at the Ministry of Health and Population on Monday to make public the action plan, State Minister Shrestha said the vaccines will be received through purchases and the COVAX facility.

State Minister Shrestha said his utmost priority will be to ensure that all eligible citizens will be vaccinated by mid-April next year. This was the first decision taken by the Council of Ministers meeting of the incumbent government.

Meanwhile, State Minister Shrestha announced that he will not receive any government facilities during his term in office.
