3,481 new cases and 30 fatalities recorded in the last 24 hours; active cases cross 38,000-mark

Kathmandu: A total of 3,481 new cases of Covid-19 were recorded in the last 24 hours in the country. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, the new cases were identified from 10,907 RT-PCR and 5,749 antigen tests.

With the new cases, the Covid-19 tally has reached 723,296 (in PCR tests) and 72,095 (in antigen tests) in the country as of Wednesday. Similarly, the Ministry confirmed that 1,885 patients have recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours. With this, the total number of recovered patients has reached 675,083 so far.

According to the Ministry, a total of 30 Covid-19 patients died in the last 24 hours across the country. The Ministry stated that the total number of deaths from coronavirus infection has reached 10,180.

The Ministry has further shared that there are 38,033 active cases of coronavirus across the country. Out of them, 34,813 are in home isolation and 3,220 undergoing treatment at institutional isolation. A total of 796 are receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit while 184 Covid-19 patients are under ventilator support, the Health Ministry said, adding 399 are currently quarantined.
