Nepal registers 3,260 new Covid-19 cases and 32 fatalities in the last 24 hours; Katmandu Valley records 1,133 fresh cases

Kathmandu: The country has recorded 3,260 new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours. This was revealed in 15,462 samples including 10,806 through RT-PCR and 4,656 antigen tests carried out in various laboratories across the country, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

This takes the caseload of Covid-19 infection in the country to 725,769 confirmed through RT-PCR and 72,882 through antigen tests.

Likewise, 2,294 people recovered during the same period, taking the total number of recoveries to 677,377, with the recovery rate standing at 93.3 percent.

Meanwhile, 32 people lost their lives in the past 24 hours, taking the Covid-19 death toll to 10,212. The case fatality rate is 1.5 percent.

The number of active cases in the country is 38,180 with 34,838 of them in home isolation, 3,342 in institutional isolation. Of the infected, 737 are undergoing treatment in ICU while 183 are with ventilator support.

The Kathmandu Valley recorded 1,133 new cases in the last 24 hours with 811 persons in Kathmandu, 192 in Lalitpur, and 130 in Bhaktapur testing positive.
