Covid-19 update: 2,295 new cases and 16 fatalities in the last 24 hours

Kathmandu: A total of 2,295 new cases of Covid-19 have been reported in the country in the last 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

The new cases were detected from 16,233 tests— 1,902 PCR tests and 4,341 antigen tests—conducted in several laboratories across the country during the same period.

Currently, there are a total of 35,874 active cases in the country. Among them, 568 are being treated in ICU, 160 in ventilators, 2,541 in home isolation, 33,333 in institutional isolation and 338 in quarantine facilities, said the Ministry. Similarly, 1,808 people got recovered in a day. With this, the number of people who have recovered from the infection stands at 714,520 in total.

A total of 16 people succumbed to Covid-19 in the past 24 hours, taking the Covid-19 fatalities to 10,730.
