Philippines lifts travel restriction on Nepal

Kathmandu: Philippines has lifted the travel restriction imposed on Nepal from last April for the Covid-19 control. 

Stating that the situation has begun to normalize due to the availability of the vaccines, Philippines has eased the restriction imposed on Nepal, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, UAE, Oman, Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia. The decision will come into effect from Monday. 

According to Harry Roque, the spokesperson of President Rodrigo Duterte,  international passengers from these 10 countries must follow the Covid protocol, including testing and quarantine, for entry. 

The Delta variant has spread in the communities of the Philippines, infecting 1,789 Filipinos so far. Out of them, 33 have succumbed to the virus.
