1,897 Covid-19 cases and 20 deaths recorded in the last 24 hours

Kathmandu: The country recorded 1,897 Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours. The infection cases were recorded from a total of 15,979 tests, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

So far, the death toll from the infection has hit 10,858 with 20 deaths in the past 24 hours. The number of active infection cases has stood at 30,973 while a total of 728,928 infected people have got over it with 1,743 in the past 24 hours. The overall recovery rate is 94.6 percent.

A total of 512 infected people have been admitted to the intensive care units of various hospitals and 163 are on ventilator support. Similarly, 28,911 are in home isolation, 2,062 in institutional isolation and 260 at the quarantine facility.

Kathmandu Valley recorded 606 cases in the last 24 hours with 418 cases in Kathmandu, 87 in Lalitpur, and 101 in Bhaktapur.

Also today, 107,232 people were vaccinated against Covid-19. The total number of people vaccinated with both doses has reached 4,962,759 while the number with only the first dose includes 5,573,419.

A total of 18 districts in the country have more than 500 active cases as of today. In Kathmandu valley, the number of active cases including 4,158 in Kathmandu, 1,339 in Bhaktapur and 2,026 in Lalitpur respectively.
