Nepal’s Covid-19 recovery rate improves to 95.1 percent; 994 new cases and 12 deaths registered

Kathmandu: Nepal’s Ministry of Health and Population on Saturday said that the country recorded 994 fresh Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours.

A total of 9,840 tests including 6,137 RT-PCR tests and 3,703 antigen tests were done during the period. The Covid-19 positivity rate stood at 10.1 percent. Nepal had witnessed 1,146 cases on Friday with 8,549 RT-PCR and 2,367 antigen tests carried out in different laboratories across the country.

With these new cases, the total infected number has reached 776,325 in PCR tests and 86,621 in antigen in the country so far. Likewise, altogether 1,368 Covid-19 patients got full recovery during the period. A total of 738,034 people have recovered from the pandemic so far. Nepal’s Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 95.1 percent and case fatality at 1.5 percent.

According to the Ministry of Health, 12 people succumbed to the pandemic in the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 10,936.

The number of active cases in the country is 27,355 with 25,708 of them in home isolation, 1,647 in institutional isolation. Of the infected, 456 are undergoing treatment in ICU while 122 are with ventilator support.
