Covid-19 update: 1,478 fresh cases recorded in the last 24 hours; 1,630 recover

Kathmandu: The country has recorded 1,478 new cases of Covid-19 in the past 24 hours.

This was confirmed in 13,930 tests conducted in the last 24 hours including 11,067 done through RT-PCR and 2,863 through antigen method in various laboratories across the country, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

This takes the caseload of Covid-19 to 787,828 till date. Likewise, 1,630 people recovered during the same period, taking the total number of recoveries to 755,630 with the recovery rate standing at 95.9 percent.

Meanwhile, six people lost their lives in the past 24 hours, taking the Covid-19 death toll to 11,059. The case fatality rate is 1.4 percent.

The number of active cases in the country is 21,139 with 19,805 of them in home isolation, 1,334 in institutional isolation. Of the infected, 334 are undergoing treatment in ICU while 119 are with ventilator support. Likewise, 243 were in various quarantine facilities, the Ministry said.
