Kathmandu: Eight persons died and a person is injured when a jeep en route to Ghandruk from Pokhara skidded off from the road and plunged into a river on Monday afternoon.

Eight passengers including the driver of the jeep died in the accident that occurred at Annapurna Rural Municipality-10, police confirmed. There were nine passengers including the driver in the jeep.

The jeep with registration number Ga 1 Ja 6900 plunged some 150 meters from the road at around 2:30 today, said police.
