Nepal’s Covid-19 recovery rate improves to 97 percent; 147 new cases registered from 1,773 tests

Kathmandu: Nepal’s Ministry of Health and Population on Saturday said that the country recorded 147 fresh Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours.

A total of 1,773 tests including 1,446 RT-PCR tests and 327 antigen tests were done during the period. With these new cases, the total infected number has reached 804,652 in PCR tests and 93,356 in antigen in the country so far.

Likewise, altogether 845 Covid-19 patients got full recovery during the period. A total of 780,776 people have recovered from the pandemic so far. Nepal’s Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 97.03 percent and case fatality at 1.4 percent.

According to the Ministry of Health, one Covid-19 patient succumbed to the pandemic in the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 11,278.

The number of active cases in the country is 12,598 with 11,544 of them in home isolation, 1,054 in institutional isolation. Of the infected, 307 are undergoing treatment in ICU while 231 are with ventilator support.
