One million Covid-19 vaccines procured from China arrive

Kathmandu: An additional 1.02 million Covid-19 vaccines purchased by the government from China have arrived on Wednesday. The vaccines were procured through the COVAX cost-sharing facility.

An aircraft of China Southern Airlines landed carrying the vaccines landed at the Tribhuvan International Airport at 9:45 am.

The government had reached an agreement with the COVAX to buy 5.9 million doses of the vaccine under the cost-sharing facility. The first lot arrived today.

Earlier, the government had bought 6 million doses of vaccine from China.
