Art competition to be organized in memory of poet Devkota

With the contest, organizers want to pay tribute to the ‘Mahakavi’ of Nepali literature.

Kathmandu: Himalayan Festival of Art and Literature, an annual festival celebrating literature and arts, is organizing an art competition to pay tribute to eminent poet Laxmi Prasad Devkota on his birthday, which falls on November 4.

The participants have to draw Devkota’s sketch and send it to the organizer. The deadline for the submission is November 2. 

According to organizers, participants can send their work to the organizer’s Facebook account or through a Google form.

The best art work will be awarded Nrs. 5,000 and the most liked photo in social media will receive Nrs 3000.

“With the competition we aim to memorialize the eminent poet and pay tribute to his contribution to Nepali literature,” the organizer said in a statement.
