Kathmandu: Two persons were killed and four others were injured when a passenger bus hit pedestrians near Newarpani of Hetauda Sub Metropolis-19 in central Nepal on Saturday night.
The deceased have been identified as Suraj Bista, 20, of Hetauda-19 and Prem Bahadur Singh Thakuri, 34, of Piple in Chitwan, said Jayeshwar Rimal, Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office.
The bus, Bagmati Pradesh 03-001KHA 0936, heading towards Narayangarh from Gaur of Rautahat via Hetauda had hit deusi bhailo troupe. The injured are undergoing treatment at hospitals in Hetauda and Chitwan.
Locals set the bus on fire, police said, adding that the bus driver is on the run.
