Cabinet approves procurement process for 6 million Pfizer vaccines

Kathmandu: The government has approved the purchase of six million Pfizer Covid-19 vaccines. A meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Monday passed the proposal of the Ministry of Health and Population to procure the vaccines.

The government had initiated the procurement process for purchasing the vaccines for children aged up to 18 years.

Different studies have shown that Pfizer vaccines can also be administered to kids aged 5-11 years. Recent studies showed the vaccine to be 91 percent effective.

Earlier, Nepal had received 100,620 doses of Pfizer vaccine donated by the United States.
