Covid-19: Nepal records 440 new cases and six deaths

Kathmandu: The Ministry of Health and Population on Wednesday said the country recorded 440 new cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours.

The new cases take the Covid-19 caseload to 815,759 in RT-PCR and 94,979 in antigen tests.

The cases were diagnosed from 6,814 tests including 5,407 RT-PCR and 1,407 antigen tests conducted in the last 24 hours.

A total of 474 people recovered from the pandemic, taking total recoveries to 796,780. The recovery rate stands at 97.7 percent.

Likewise, six Covid-19 patients died in the last 24 hours. The death toll from the pandemic has reached 11,460 as of Wednesday afternoon, the Health Ministry added. The case fatality rate stands at 1.4 percent.

There are currently 7,519 active cases.
