Leader Pun taken to China from Thailand for treatment of jaundice

Kathmandu: CPN (Maoist Center) standing committee member Barshaman Pun who is fighting with an increased level of bilirubin has been taken to China for further treatment.

The Maoist leader had been receiving treatment at the Thailand-based Samitivej Hospital in Bangkok since September 29. He was directly taken to China today from there, according to party central leader and Pun’s private secretary Durga Chapagain.

The former Finance Minister has been diagnosed with hereditary hyperbilirubinemia and a medical team at the Samitivej referred him to China as there is no noticeable progress in his health condition. He was taken to the Third People’s Hospital of Shenzhen, China.

His spouse and former Speaker Onsari Gharti and daughter Shila are accompanying him. His treatment will start from today itself. It is said party Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ took initiatives for making necessary arrangements for Pun’s further treatment.
