Leader Pun’s health ‘gradually improving’

Kathmandu: The health of ailing CPN (Maoist Center) leader Barsha Man Pun is gradually improving. Party standing committee member Pun is receiving treatment at the Third People’s Hospital of Shenzhen, China after being diagnosed with hereditary jaundice.

Initially, he was admitted to the Thailand-based Samitivej Hospital in Bangkok on September 29. The hospital, however, referred him and he was flown straightly to China where he was admitted to the Third People’s Hospital after there was no noticeable improvement in his health, it has been said.

He was admitted to the Third People’s Hospital of Shenzhen, China last Friday. According to his spouse and former Speaker Onsari Gharti who is accompanying him said his health was on the path to gradual improvement. He was primarily suffering from vomiting, body itching, sleep disorder, loss of appetite and swelling due to increased level of bilirubin.

A medical squad involved in his treatment has said that he is out a life-threatening condition and he will be recovered after sometime, according to Pun’s former private secretary and party central member Durga Chapagain.

Back home beforehand, the ailing leader had sought medical care at the Sumeru Hospital and the Grande International Hospital and then Apollo Hospital in New Delhi, India as well.
