Nepali Congress unveils list of General Convention representatives

Kathmandu: The Nepali Congress (NC) has made public the preliminary name list of representatives for its 14th General Convention that is scheduled to kick off on coming Friday in Kathmandu.

The representatives will elect the party’s central leadership. The name list comprising a total of 4,319 representatives has been put on the party website by the party central election committee. Party active membership numbers, inclusiveness clusters and their contact numbers have also been provided.

The name-list has yet to add 60 representatives from party sister organizations, 67 from the supporting organizations and around 150 from the party liaison committees in foreign countries, said committee secretary Jagannath Shrestha, adding that similarly, name list of 130 representatives from four federal constituencies in Sarlahi district and one federal constituency in Mahottari district will come by until this evening.

More than 4,700 general convention representatives are expected to attend the party’s mega event, said the committee. The official name-list of General Convention representatives will be made public on next Friday as per the electoral calendar determined by the committee.
