Kathmandu: With the decision to turn its national conference to the general convention, the Maoist Centre has invited leaders of the major political parties in the inaugural ceremony. The Maoist Center is all set to inaugurate the general convention at 3PM today in Kathmandu.
A meeting of the Standing Committee on Saturday decided to change the first national conference into eighth general convention. As the party decided to turn the national conference to the general conference at the eleventh hour, it was not possible to invite foreign guests, said Govinda Acharya, secretary of the publicity department of the party.
According to him, leaders from the Nepali Congress, CPN-UML, CPN (Unified Socialist), among others are invited in the inaugural ceremony.
