Nepal’s daily Covid-19 cases shatter yet another record with 12,338 new cases, positivity rate soars to 45 percent

Kathmandu: A total of 12,338 new cases of Covid-19 were recorded in the last 24 hours in the country in yet another highest single-day spike. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, the new cases were identified from 21,007 RT-PCR and 6,490 antigen tests. Nepal had recorded 11,353 fresh coronavirus cases on Wednesday.

With the new cases, the Covid-19 tally has reached 887,769 (in PCR tests) and 108,119 (in antigen tests) in the country as of Thursday. The positivity rate stood at 44.87 percent.

Similarly, the Ministry confirmed that 649 patients have recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours. With this, the total number of recovered patients has reached 818,809 so far. The recovery rate stands at 92.2 percent.

According to the Ministry, four Covid-19 patients died in the last 24 hours across the country. The Ministry stated that the total number of deaths from coronavirus infection has reached 11,632.

The Ministry has further shared that there are 57,328 active cases of coronavirus across the country.
