Kathmandu: Police have arrested 74 people from a restaurant in Kathmandu on the charge of their alleged involvement in online gambling. A police team deployed from Metropolitan Police Circle, Boudha made the arrest on Monday morning.
According to police, they were arrested for online gambling from the restaurant operated near Boudha in Kathmandu-6.
Spokesperson at Metropolitan Police Range Kathmandu Dinesh Raj Mainali said that the law enforcement agency raided the restaurant and made the arrest following a tip-off.
Mobile phones, gambling coupons, and cash were also recovered from them. Among the arrested are 66 men and eight women. Police said that Rs 619,250 was confiscated during the raid.
