CPN (Maoist Center) decides to vote against MCC Compact

Kathmandu: The CPN (Maoist Center) has decided not to support the endorsement of the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) in the status quo.

The party’s Chief Whip Dev Gurung said that the meeting of the Parliamentary Party held on Wednesday morning decided to vote against the compact if tabled.

He said that it will inappropriate for the party if the Compact is tabled without a consensus in the ruling alliance.

The government is preparing to table the Compat at the Parliament’s meeting slated for today.

The meeting of the Lower House has been summoned for 1 pm today. The Compact is not in probable business for today’s meeting. But it is likely the tabling of the compact will be included in the agenda through the meeting of the Business Advisory Committee slated for today.

As stated in the business list, Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba would submit the third annual report of FY 2077/078 BS of the Tharu Commission and approval of three condolence motions.
