Kathmandu: Nepal defeated Oman by 39 runs in the ongoing ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Qualifiers on Friday.

Chasing down 118 runs target, Oman managed to get only 78 runs on the board losing all wickets in 17 overs. Naseem Khushi of Oman 24 runs. No other batsmen scored in double-digit.

Kamal Airee of Nepal took three wickets as Sandeep Lamichhane and Dipendra Singh Airee grabbed two wickets each.

Earlier, in the match played at Al Amerat Cricket Ground in Oman, Nepal notched up only 117 runs on the board losing eight wickets in the stipulated 20 overs, thanks to poor performance from the batsmen.

Aarif Sheikh top-scored for Nepal at 38 runs off 37 balls as Lokesh Bam and Captain Sandeep Lamichhane contributed equal 16 runs.

Khawar Ali of Oman took three wickets as Bilal Khan sent two Nepali batsmen back to the pavilion.

Oman won the toss and elected to field first.
