Kathmandu: At least 6.2 million doses of Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine are arriving in Nepal through the Covax facility, backed by the World Health Organization (WHO).

“The United States is providing the vaccine through the facility,” confirmed Surendra Chaurasia, chief of the Logistic Management Section under the Department of Health Services.

“A total of 1.5 million doses will arrive in Nepal by March 25,” he said, adding that the remaining will arrive by April 18.

The United States will send only 1.5 million doses at a time.

The vaccine will be administered to those above 12 years of age, said Chaurasia.
