UAE beats Nepal by 48 runs in WC League 2

Kathmandu: The United Arab Emirates defeated Nepal by 48 runs in the match played under the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 on Friday.

Chasing 169 runs target set by the UAE, Nepal managed to get only 120 runs on the board losing all wickets in 35.1 overs.

In the match played at Dubai Sports City in Dubai, Rohit Paudel top-scored for Nepal at 48 runs off 60 balls hitting four fours. Gyanendra Malla made 28 runs.

Basil Hameed of the UAE grabbed four wickets in his kitty as Junaid Siddique sent three Nepali batsmen back to the pavilion.

Earlier, choosing to bat first after winning the toss, the UAE was restricted to a lowly total of 168 runs losing all wickets in 46.3 overs. For Nepal, Sompal Kami and Karan KC took four and three wickets respectively.

Earlier on Wednesday, Nepal had defeated Papua New Guinea by two wickets.
