Kathmandu: NMB Bank has provided concessional loans to sugarcane farmers in Madhesh Pradesh.
The bank has so far provided concessional loans to 156 sugarcane farmers in Madhesh from Kalaiya and Golbazar branches, giving priority to the agriculture and the productive sector.
The bank had entered into agreements with Reliance Sugar Mills and Himalayan Sugar Mills with the objective of providing easy credit to sugarcane farmers, the bank said in a statement.
As per the agreement, concessional loans have been provided to the farmers by encouraging the sugar industry to cultivate sugarcane to meet the demand for sugarcane. In addition, in collaboration with sugar mills, it has been providing various other technical assistance to the farmers.
