Officials from Nepal, US discuss wildlife conservation and climate change

Kathmandu: Officials from Nepal and US have discussed matters of mutual interest about Nepal’s forest, wildlife conservation and climate change.

A high-level delegation from Nepal that includes officials from forest and conservation sectors met Deputy Assistant Secretary Kelly Keiderling and Deputy Assistant Secretary for Environment John E. Thompson at the US Department of State, Washington D.C.

Forest and Environment Secretary Dr Pem Kandel, Director General of Department of National Parks and Wildlife Conservation Dr Ram Chandra Kandel, Member-Secretary of National Trust for Nature Conservation Sharad Adhikary and officials from the Embassy of Nepal held discussions with the high-ranking US officials.

The officials agreed to cooperate to tackle climate change. US officials appreciated Nepal for raising issues of climate change in global forums.
