15th Durbarmarg Street Festival attracts 100,000 visitors [With Photos]

Kathmandu: The 15th edition of Durbarmarg Street Festival, which was organized on Saturday,  witnessed a massive footfall of almost 100,000 visitors.

The event, jointly organized by the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Restaurant and Bar Association Nepal (REBAN), Durbarmarg Development Board in collaboration with Ncell Pvt Ltd, indicated that the tourism sector is slowly reviving from the shock of Covid-19 pandemic, the organizers said.

The event was organized under the slogan ‘Cooperation: Promotion of Local Products and Domestic Tourism’ for the revival of small, home-based and medium enterprises of the tourism industry.

The main objective of the festival was to support the tourism development of the country by promoting domestic tourism and to promote Nepali products, Nepali dishes and Nepali culture.

The festival was inaugurated by Shekhar Golchha, president of FNCCI, amid a grand function. “As more than 90 percent of population are fully vaccinated against Covid-19, and life is returning to normal, such festivals help revive economic activities,”  Golchha said during the inauguration of the festival.

According to the organizers, musical and entertainment performances, and food stalls were the major attraction of the festival.
