Kathmandu: Dissatisfaction has grown in the ruling Nepali Congress (NC) after the ruling alliance finalized seat-sharing for the metropolises.
A meeting of top leaders of the alliance held on Tuesday night agreed to let CPN (Unified Socialist) field its candidate as a common candidate from the alliance for the Mayor of Pokhara Metropolitan City.
Irked by the decision, local leaders in Kaski on Wednesday padlocked the party’s District Office.
Secretaries of the party’s Pokhara Metropolis Committee Ganesh Bahadur Thapa and Tuwaraj Bastola issued a statement on Wednesday stating that the decision has seriously damaged the self-esteem of the party leaders and cadres. The committee has submitted a letter to the District Working Committee and Gandaki Province Committee anticipating their support for the protest programs in the coming days.
