Community Radio Pushpanjali unveils calendar

Wami Taksar (Gulmi): On the occasion of the Nepali New Year, the Gulmi-based Community Radio Puspanjali unveiled a calendar amid a program at Wami Taksak in Gulmi district on Thursday.

Unveiling the calendar, Khimananda Bhusal, chief administrative officer, of Musikot Municipality said that the community radio has made the entire community proud. “The municipality is always committed to the development of the community radio,” he said.

The guests present at the ceremony said that the local government should play an important role in the capacity building of journalists associated with the radio. “Puspanjali is the only radio station in the community. The effort the radio station has shown is tremendous,” said Govinda Sapkota, who donated land to the radio station.


Likewise, advisors Hari Narayan Sapkota and Gopi Krishna Kharel also appreciated the effort of the radio station. The community radio has been focusing on local-level issues, especially Dalits and the marginalized among others, he said.

Likewise, board members Loknath Kaphle, Sital Devi Basnet, Uma Kanta Sapkota, and Accounts Coordinator Dilliraj Kharel, Member Top Narayan Sakya, shareholders Kamalraj Kharel, Tejindra GC, Salon Shakya, Lok Prasad Chantyal were also presented in the event.

Similarly, Govinda Kandel, revenue officer of Musikot Municipality, was also present at the event.
