Five killed, 18 injured as bus carrying Indian pilgrims and jeep collide head-on in Kavre

Kathmandu: At least five people were killed and 18 others injured in a road accident in Roshi Rural Municipality-11 in Kavrepalanchok district on Wednesday afternoon.

According to Kavre Police Spokesperson DSP Hari Khatiwada, five persons were killed when a minibus carrying Indian pilgrims and a Tata Sumo jeep collided head-on in Roshi Rural Municipality along the BP Highway.

The identity of the deceased is yet to be ascertained. The injured have been taken to Dhulikhel Hospital for treatment, police said.

The bus with the Indian registration number was heading for Janakpur while the Tata Sumo was arriving in Kavre from Sindhuli.

Details of the accident are awaited.
