Bomb threat at TIA domestic terminal, passengers evacuated

Kathmandu: A bomb threat has created panic at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) on Wednesday morning.

Police have evacuated passengers from the domestic terminal of the airport following the bomb threat. An unidentified person telephoned the law enforcement agency this morning and claimed that bombs have been planted at the domestic terminal.

SSP Bhim Dhakal, Chief of the TIA Security Office, said that a search operation is underway, adding that a bomb disposal squad of the Nepal Army has reached the airport.

All the domestic flights are currently suspended.
