Kathmandu: The Election Commission has demanded a clarification from Janata Samajwadi Party’s Federal Council Chair Baburam Bhattarai for making public the ballot paper that he had marked for voting.

The constitutional body responsible to conduct the election sought clarification from Dr Bhattarai within 24 hours, claiming he committed an offense as per Election (Offence and Punishment) Act-2073 BS’s Clause 9 (2), according to Commission’s spokesperson Shaligram Sharma Poudel.

Bhattarai, also a former Prime Minister, had posted pictures on social networking sites today morning where he was showing the ballot paper already marked and sealed.
