In pics: Nepal votes to elect local representatives

Kathmandu: Nepalis on Friday voted in the local-level elections to elect people’s representatives for the next five years.

Voting was held in 21, 955 polling booths fixed at 10,756 polling stations across the country from 7 am till 5 pm.


There were around 17.73 million eligible voters and the voter turnout till 4:45 pm has been recorded at 55 percent. The elections were held to elect a total of 35,221 representatives who include Mayors/Chairman and Deputy Mayors/Vice-Chairman, ward chairs, Dalit women members, women members, and open ward members.
