NC leads the tally with wins in 203 local units, UML victorious in 127 municipals

Kathmandu: The Nepali Congress (NC) is leading the tally as the vote counting of local-level elections held on Friday has been completed in 331 municipals.

As per the final results, till Wednesday noon, Nepali Congress has won Mayor/Chair in 203 local units and Deputy Mayor/ Vice-Chair in 194 municipals.

The CPN-UML has won Mayor/Chair in 127 municipals as the party’s candidates competing for Deputy Mayor/Vice-Chair posts have won in 130 municipals.

Likewise, CPN (Maoist Center) is placed third winning Mayor/Chair in 85 municipals. The party has won Deputy Mayor/Vice-Chair posts in 93 municipals.

Similarly, the Janata Samajwadi Party has won Mayor/Chair in five municipals and Deputy Mayor/Vice-Chair in six municipals.

Other parties and independent candidates have won mayoral posts in 14 local units and deputy mayoral posts in six.
