Kathmandu: Student unions associated with different political parties on Wednesday picketed the Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) against the recent price hike of petroleum products.

The state-owned monopolist on Sunday hiked the prices of petrol, diesel, kerosene, aviation fuel, and cooking gas. The NOC increased the prices of petrol, diesel kerosene, and aviation fuel (domestic) by Rs 10 per liter. Likewise, the price of cooking gas was increased by Rs 200 per cylinder. With the new price list, petrol costs Rs 180 per liter and Rs 163 per liter for diesel and kerosene while Rs 166 per liter for domestic aviation fuel.

The NOC on May 14 had increased the prices of petrol, diesel, and kerosene by Rs 10 per liter.
