Kathmandu: The main opposition party CPN-UML has obstructed the meeting of Parliament on Friday condemning the remarks made by Minister for Industry Commerce and Supplies Dilendra Badu regarding a speech by UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli.

Speaking at the meeting of the House of Representatives on Friday, Minister Badu criticized the remarks made by Oli during the discussion on policies and programs. Minister Badu accused Oli of receiving commissions from contractors when he was the Prime Minister.

UML lawmaker Khagaraj Adhikari initially objected while Minister Badu was addressing the meeting.  Speaker Agni Sapkota then allowed Adhikari to speak. Lawmakers from the main opposition stood from their respective seats demanding the statement be removed from the House’s record.

The meeting was postponed for 15 minutes.
