Kathmandu: A total of 14 dead bodies have been recovered from the Tara Air aircraft crash site in Mustang as of Monday morning.
Security personnel deployed at the spot said a search operation was underway. They have ruled out chances of finding any survivors.
An aircraft of Tara Air that went missing on Sunday morning was found crashed at Thasang-2 in Mustang district. A team of Nepal Army and Nepal Police reached the incident site at 7:50 am, said Mustang Chief District Officer Netra Prasad Sharma.
“A team has reached the spot where the plane crashed. There are reports of bodies being scattered around, “he said.” Preparations are being made to send additional rescue teams. However, it is not possible to land a helicopter at the site due to bad weather.”
On Sunday morning, Tara Air’s 9N-AET twin-engine aircraft carrying 22 passengers, including 13 Nepalis, four Indians, and two German nationals, flying from Pokhara to Jomsom at 9:55 am, went missing, after reaching the Ghodepani area of Mustang, according to the Tara Air.
