Musikot Municipality to prepare local curriculum

Gulmi: Musikot Municipality has started preparation for readying a local curriculum. As per the constitutional rights, the municipality is working to prepare the local curriculum and enforce it in schools located in the municipal from the coming education session.

Education Officer Prakash Nepali said that the curriculum is being readied for the primary level based on suggestions of experts and local necessities and issues. The municipality has formed a nine-member task force led by Education Officer Nepali to formulate the curriculum.

Chief Administrative Officer Khimananda Bhushal said that the curriculum is being developed to provide information about the uniqueness, geographical, biological, and cultural diversities among others of Musikot Municipality.

Member Secretary of the task force Tika Gharti said the task force has finalized its report by collecting suggestions from various stakeholders. The curriculum will be implemented after it is submitted to the Municipal Education Committee and approved by a meeting Municipal Executive Committee.

The curriculum will be implemented in 71 community schools and seven institutional schools in the municipality.
