Kathmandu: The Airlines Operators Association of Nepal (AOAN) has announced halting all the domestic flights from Wednesday. Organizing a press conference in Kathmandu, the association said it will not operate aircraft and helicopters from tomorrow.

The association said it took the decision to halt the service protesting the government’s decision that stated that 55 aircraft and helicopters of various companies should be parked at the designated base airport outside Kathmandu at night.

The association has demanded that an increase in passenger service fees, landing, parking, and navigations fee should be withdrawn.

Space be provided for long-term helipads construction for helicopter operations, hangars for maintenance, and other physical infrastructures at Tribhuvan International Airport, the association said in a press statement.
