Police open fire at polling center in Bajura

Kathmandu: Police have opened fire in the air following a scuffle between the cadres of the ruling coalition and CPN-UML at a polling center in Budhiganga Municipality in Bajura district on Thursday afternoon.

The scuffle occurred at a polling center in Trishakti School in Budhiganga-9.

A repolling under the local elections is being held in the municipality today.

Chief District Officer Prakash Chandra Adhikari said that the voting has resumed after the security personnel took the situation under control.

The Election Commission had decided to conduct repolling over disputes and booth capturing during May 13 polls.
