Kathmandu: Many cultural heritages of Kathmandu Valley were reduced to rubble by the 2015 earthquake that claimed the lives of over 9,000 people. Some of the cultural heritages devastated by the earthquake have been reconstructed, while some are still in ruins.

Offices are operating from some buildings that are at risk of collapse even by a small tremor. The majority of the buildings were constructed by the Rana rulers and were later converted into government offices after the end of the Rana rule in 2007 BS.
