Kathmandu: Locals in Banchare Danda have obstructed garbage disposal yet again on Thursday. They have stopped the garbage-laden tippers from reaching the landfill demanding to repair the road both ways.

“The local residents have demanded that the road be repaired both ways,” said Spokesperson at Kathmandu Metropolitan City Navin Manandhar. “The garbage disposal will start as the road is being repaired as per the demand of the locals.”

The garbage collection in Kathmandu Valley was obstructed for the past one week due to road repair.

The Banchare Danda landfill is located about 27 km from Kathmandu and approximately 1.9km west of the existing Sisdole landfill.
