Galkot Samaj UK marks sixth annual meeting

Baglung: Galkot Samaj UK has celebrated its sixth annual meeting with grandeur.

Speaking at a special function organized in Birmingham on July 25, Chief Guest Nepali Ambassador to the UK Gyan Chandra Acharya said that Galkot Society UK has made known only Galkot but also Baglung and Nepal as a whole.

Likewise, Ambassador Acharya said that the organization has great importance in preserving Nepal’s costume and art and culture in Britain as well. Ambassador Acharya added that Galkot Samaj UK has done good and exemplary work in the short period of its establishment.

The program featured a comprehensive cultural performance by national-level artists, an entertaining comedy presentation, and a raffle draw. There was a cultural performance by famous national-level artists Anupa Thapa Magar, Resham Nirdosh, Asmita Dallakoti, Shanta Rani Pariyar and Bishal Rayamajhi among others.

People from Galkot who have obtained master’s degrees in the UK were also honored on the occasion.

The program was presided over by Bhojraj Kandel, President of Galkot Samaj UK, while the Nepali Ambassador to the UK Gyan Chandra Acharya was the chief guest.

The program that was also attended by Resham Budhathoki, founder president of Galkot Samaj UK and others was hosted General Secretary of Galkot Samaj UK Bishnu Chalise.

During the program, Vice-President of Galkot Samaj UK Govinda Kandel delivered a welcome speech.
