One dies, 16 injured as jeep carrying pilgrims meets with an accident in Pyuthan

Kathmandu: One person was killed and 16 others got injured when a jeep met with an accident in Pyuthan on Saturday.

The jeep, LU 4 Cha 353, carrying pilgrims was returning from Sworgadwari when it met with an accident at Sworgadwari Municipality-4, Vyagute.

Chief District Officer of Pyuthan Sunita Nepal said that 32-year-old Gudiya Thakur of Mayadevi Rural Municipality-3 in Rupandehi died on the spot in the accident.

According to her, 17 people were traveling in the jeep. It is said that nine of the injured are in serious condition and are being taken to Bhairahawa for further treatment.
